About us

Who we are

Welcome to New Beginnings!

New Beginnings is situated on the grounds of Park Spring Primary School in Bramley, Leeds. Our aim is to provide a truly exceptional learning environment and experience for both our children and their family. We took over the ownership and management of New Beginnings in May 2005 with a view to building a strong family partnership and an undeniable reputation for providing quality childcare. Spurred with this vision and commitment to delivering excellence, we began a large-scale renovation program for both the inside and outside of the nursery.

Over the years, we have significantly modernised and re-decorated the nursery to create a fantastic looking nursery, both inside and outside, to provide an environment that is aesthetically pleasing; academically stimulating, and physically attractive to all the ages that we cater to.  Our environment is calm and thoughtfully resourced with high quality toys and other age appropriate and stimulating materials.  Our outdoor area consist of a literacy shed, a construction area filled real construction materials as well as an outdoor kitchen fully furnished with real life home appliances.  We also have a science exploration area and a planting area for our vegetables and herbs which we use in our cookery classes.

A passion for childcare and a strong work ethic is key for us during our recruitment process.  We have a qualified Early Years Teacher, and all our staff are fully qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 2.  Most of our staff are qualified to Level 3, 4, or working towards their Level 5 qualification.

Since taking over the nursery, we have always strived to maintain a high standard not only in our environment but also in our personal development so that we can then provide the highest standard of learning and development for the children in our care.  This has led to us achieving ‘Outstanding’ in our last Ofsted inspection carried out in May 2022.

Curriculum

We believe that learning should not be confined to a classroom and therefore all our environment is a learning centre, and every encounter is an opportunity to learn.  Our aim is to enable children develop their knowledge and skills in the most effective way that is age and stage appropriate.  We know that children learn through play and therefore we deliver our curriculum in a play-based system.
The activities we provide include Imaginative Play, Maths, Language and Literacy, Art, Physical activities, Information Technology, Music, Dance, and Social Skills, Science – Knowledge, and Understanding of the World.

Our extracurricular activities include French or Spanish class, Dance, Yoga, Mini football, nursery trips to farms, museums, allotments, and many other areas of interest. We are constantly reviewing this to include any activity that we deem to be beneficial to the development of the children at our nursery.
